Calandra Truthsayer, Oracle of the Glimmerwood
Have you ever painted a fig and wish you had it back in your possession? This is one of those figs. But... It was for a great cause so I can live with it being owned by someone else. I did this figs several years ago for a Breast Cancer event held at the local game store. The Press Ganger running the event asked if a few of the local painters wouldn't mind painting up a fig to be given away or auctioned off at the event. That is why Calandra has pink fingernails. We all agreed to have something pink on the miniature in honor of the charity. I plan on painting another one for myself because I really like the color scheme. Actually it will be for one of my boys who plays Trollbloods. Because of the colors and just how she turned out this is still one of my favorite figs. I would like to take credit for the color scheme but it was actually a friend of mine who suggested it when I was stumped.

Super Dungeon Explore: Hexcast Sorceress
I would really like to take credit for this Hexcast Sorceress but I can't. My daughter painted it up for me. I wish she had the time to paint more but with her new job she is super busy. I think this is her fourth fig now. The last three she painted up were probably more that five years ago. How it would be nice to take a break for that long and come back and pull this off right? I did help her on one thing however and that was the blue orb. She was getting done but could not find the time to wrap it up so asked if I could just finish that one little part for her. I really like how this little gal turned out plus she kicks butt on the field of battle too. Always nice to have a cool looking fig crush the bad guys.

Super Dungeon Explore: Slowpoke
Well I just wrapped these little guys up a few weeks ago. I mirrored the scheme from a project I did for the IMC auction a year ago. I did a couple of Crocs (which I will eventually post). Thought it would be fun and bright for this game. I didn't spend a ton of time on the shells which were mostly washes. But when I got to the point of painting the claws I was sort of stumped. Didn't know what color I wanted to paint them. Had to actually put the figs aside for a while. I then got to a point where I wanted to just finish some of my partially painted SDE figs. So I grabbed my color wheel and picked one. As luck would have it I like how they turned out. They are bright and that is what I am going for most of the time with this game. I did get lazy on the eyes however but I am fine with how they turned out as well.

Super Dungeon Explore: Ironscale
Well I have been painting mostly Super Dungeon Explore figs for a while. Mostly because my children like playing it and that always inspires me to paint something. I am trying not to spend a great deal of time on them so I can actually finish some figs. But every once in a while I zone out and do a little more because is fun. I really enjoyed doing these Ironscale dudes. I wanted the armor to appear dragon like in nature. The shield I wanted to do a bright color and really had fun with it. It is just fun to slap paint on these guys and make them colorful because of the type of game. I hope you enjoy these little guys and much as I do. Makes me want to have them on the board every time I play.

Greetings!! Back on line...
Well it has been a while. I use to have a blog with a different provider. Got tired of paying for that one so I switched over to one that was less stressful on the wallet. So you might see old stuff from time to time especially if I hit some dry spells (like during the summer months). I will also throw up some old tutorials as well that I did here and there over the years. So now it is time to get this blog going again and I also need to spruce up the place. Kind of a boring place right now so hang in there. I promise it will get better. Haha. At least for me anyway.
